This legislation creates a Georgia Alzheimer's and Related Dementias State Plan Task Force to assess the impact of Alzheimer's on Georgia and to create a state plan.  The task force would be abolished on March 31, 2014.  Upon its abolishment, a Georgia Alzheimer's and Related Dementias Advisory would be created to annually review progress made on the state plan.

This legislation will allow an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to sign 1013 orders to hold mental health patients they deem to be a danger to themselves or others.  There is a sunset date of March 15, 2015.  Currently only doctors are allowed to sign these orders, this pilot project will document the cost savings of having additional professionals approved to sign the orders, thereby lowering transportation costs of the sheriff's departments.
